Punta Teonoste Nature Lodges & Beach Spa, is located 7km from Salinas's bridge to el Astillero, in the municipality of Tola, the department of Rivas, Nicaragua.

HOW TO GET TO PUNTA TEONOSTE

From Managua's Airport to Rivas

As you exit the airport, turn right onto Carretera Norte, at the first roundabout, continue straight toward Tipitapa. At the next stop sign, turn right heading toward Masaya.(This is a fairly easy road on which to travel and your duration is approximately 20kms). Upon arriving in Masaya, turn left onto Carretera Masaya and head toward Granada. Prior to arriving into Granada, you will see a sign for Nandaime. Turn right at this sign onto Highway 6 (look for the Pollo Estrella Billboard) and head toward Nandaime.

After approximately 10 kms, you will pass through the small towns of Catarina, Diria and Diriomo (villages noted for their plants and handicrafts). Approximately, 10 kms after Catarina, you will arrive near the turn-off to Mombacho Volcano. Keep right at this juncture and continue heading toward Nandaime. Travel 10 more kims until the road dead ends. Turn left onto the Pan American Highway.

Follow the Pan American Highway south to Rivas

About 19 kilometers past Nandaime, you will cross over the Ochomogo Bridge and drive an additional 40 kms to arrive in Rivas. Just before you arrive to Rivas, you will see signs for TOLA and Rancho Santana.

Upon arriving in Rivas, you will turn off of the Pan American Highway. (This point is just beyond kilometer marker 110 – look for a small corner stall for tire repairs). Turn right onto a small cobblestone street until the end where you will turn right again toward the village of Tola. (Should you arrive at a roundabout on the Pan-American Highway in Rivas, you’ve gone too far. However, that would be a great place to buy gas and supplies. So, if necessary, go through the roundabout and find the Pan American Grocery Store just behind the Texaco Gas Station on the right hand side).

From Rivas to Tola to las Salinas (approximately 1 hour)

If you went to the Texaco and Pan American Grocery Store, return to the cobblestone street. At the end of this street, turn right and you will be heading toward the town of Tola. After crossing a one-lane bridge, you will arrive in Tola. In Tola, you will pass a large church (on your right side). Behind the church is a public square. At the far end of the square is a stop sign and a police station. Turn left at the police station. Travel two blocks and turn right at the Rancho Santana sign.

You will now be on a dirt road and will have about 45 minutes more of travel time in front of you. You are ultimately heading toward the town of Las Salinas. You will pass the gates of several developments: Hotel Iguana and Rancho Santana. Just beyond Rancho Santana, the road forks – stay to the left.

You will pass through several small villages – just stay straight on the main road and keep heading toward Las Salinas. When you arrive in Las Salinas, you will notice some old wooden salt barns on your left. Continue on through most of the town until you come to a small hill. Turn left here and cross over the bridge. Just beyond the bridge, the road is paved again. You will pass a Century 21 Office on your left. Keep following the road for another 3 kms and you will arrive at Punta Teonoste.
